It’s not that I love the spotlight, it’s that I live to share what I have learned.
My running joke is that I’m working through my bashful phase. Truth is, I’m not bashful at all. In fact, I’m usually the one that gets up on stage, grabs the mic and starts sharing stories.
As a big fan of NPR and the tales of Lake Woebegone, I’ve shaped my stories to include the same emotional connection to my own tales of days gone by, where I am today and what I see in the future. Each story I share includes a unique blend of information, education, experience and wisdom.
The secret ingredient is passion: I love what I do. What I do today is not too dissimilar from the things I used to do when I would run home from school and work on my projects for hours on end with the only compensation being personal achievement.
I’ve gone through a lot of evolution since then, finding varying degrees of success and failure. The most challenging has been figuring out how to make a living doing the things that bring me joy and satisfaction. Some ideas have been better than others, but each has taught me something no book could have taught me.
